New Orleans Habitat Musicians’ Village Musicians’ Village, a cornerstone of the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH) post-Katrina rebuilding effort, is designed to both construct a community and preserve a culture. Conceived by New Orleans natives Harry Connick, Jr. and Branford Marsalis, Musicians’ Village will provide a home for both the artists who have defined the city’s culture and the sounds that have shaped the musical vernacular of the world.
HART Fund In 2001, The Blues Foundation established the HART Fund through which The Blues Foundation provides assistance to Blues musicians and their families in times of great financial need due to medical emergencies.
Donations to the HART Fund are dedicated 100% to artist relief efforts. Disbursements began in 2003 and have been used to pay medical bills, obtain needed medical care and assist with funeral expenses.
In late 2005, contributions were temporarily earmarked to provide some financial relief for blues musicians severly impacted by Hurricane Katrina.
Over the years, contributions have been made by our members and other donors and donations have also come from specific benefit events. Women’s Bean Project Our Mission : "To teach, through employment in on-site businesses, workplace competencies for entry-level positions to women who come from backgrounds of chronic unemployment or poverty."
Our Vision : Women’s Bean Project strives to break the cycle of chronic unemployment and poverty by helping women discover their talents and develop skills by offering job readiness training opportunities.
New Orleans Habitat for Humanity Our Mission New Orleans Musicians Clinic The Mission of the New Orleans Musicians Assistance Foundation is to keep music alive by sustaining New Orleans musicians and tradition bearers in body, mind and spirit. We do this through providing access to health and social services through the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic, regardless of musicians’ ability to pay, and by fostering cultural opportunities that advocate for and support this effort.
